Student Toolbar

The Student Toolbar is designed to make engaging in virtual reality lessons as simple and intuitive as possible.

Animations

Engage in your class using animations of common gestures:

  1. In your left toolbar, click the “Hand” icon with the label “Animations.”

  2. Select an animation to perform.

  3. Your avatar will perform the animation, engaging with others in class.

Character

Change your character to match your personality or the situation.

  1. Click the “Person” icon with the label “Characters.”

  2. Select your desired character.

  3. Use the “Skin Tone” palette in the upper right-hand corner for additional customization.

The Desktop Backpack

You have a virtual backpack!

Backpack Contents:

 

Your Backpack contains:

  1. 1 x 3D Pen

  2. 4 x Storage Pockets

  3. 1 x Camera

  4. 1 x Notepad with Unlimited Notes

Opening and Using the Backpack

  1. Click the "Backpack" icon in the toolbar on the left. Your Virtual Backpack will open.

  2. Add items to your backpack pockets.

  3. Push the Close Backpack button when you are done using the backpack.

Deleting Objects From the Backpack

  1. Click the "Backpack" icon in the toolbar on the left. Your Virtual Backpack will open.

  2. Grab any item from backpack or the ground.

  3. With the item in hand, click the "Destroy" button to delete the item.

Using the 3D Pen

You have a 3D Pen in your backpack. The 3D Pen can be used to draw 3D art/words in the classroom space.

    1. Click the "Backpack" icon in the toolbar on the left. Your Virtual Backpack will open.

  1. Click on the 3D Pen to use it.

  2. Press "Shift" and left click to draw.

  3. Hold your cursor over a drawn line and left click to delete the line.

Using the Notepad

You have a notepad for writing, drawing, and typing.

  1. Click on the notepad to create a new note.

  2. You can begin by clicking to draw on the note.

  3. Click the green "T" to toggle to typing, and use your keyboard to write a message.

Using the Camera

You have a camera to take photos during a lesson.

  1. Open the backpack and click on the Camera to take a photo.

  2. Click "Take Picture" to take a photo of what you are looking at.

  3. Place or share the photo with others!

Saving Photos from Your Camera

You can save the photos that you take in Immerse!

  1. Hold/Click to grab a photo.

  2. While holding the photo, click the "Save Photo" button.

  3. Pick the location on your computer to save the photo. Your photo is saved for later!

Prompts

Use the prompt to privately communicate with your instructor.

  1. Click the “Talk” icon with the label “Prompt.”

  2. Type your message to the instructor in the box.

  3. Click “Send” to share.
